Luisito Aballe

Luisito Aballe

Percussionist

Originally from Holguín (Cuba), the master percussionist Luisito Aballe made his mark from a very young age by winning the prestigious Amadeo Roldán National Percussion Competition in Havana four times in a row. Versatile and charismatic, he has collaborated with major Cuban classical orchestras as well as with key figures in jazz and salsa. For many years, as the conguero in Alfredo de la Fe’s orchestra, he shared the stage with legends such as Celia Cruz, José Alberto “El Canario”, Richie Ray & Bobby Cruz, Tito Nieves, Cheo Feliciano, and Giovanni Hidalgo. Now based in Lausanne, Luisito runs his studio La Clave Records and his orchestra Luisito y su Salsómetro, continuing his mission: to thrill audiences with percussion that combines virtuosity, energy, and passion.
